Safety nets for ice rinks should meet the relevant requirements. This is mainly due to the fact that the hockey puck out of the pitch reaches speeds of up to 180 km/h. Therefore, the nets should be strong and break resistant. Not only the mesh itself should be strong, but above all the cord from which it was made. Such dimensions and strain should be well adjusted. The net screening viewers should not have gaps. In addition, its tension should also not be too high, because then it can bounce and return with impetus to the ice rink. They should be coarse and the material used should be resistant to the high force with which the puck hits the net. The eyes in the net should be as small as possible, so that the speeding pucks do not pass through one of them. 3 x 3 cm eye and 5 mm thick strand are recommended. These requirements are much more restrictive than for other nets. The height of the net also matters. It should be taken into account that the puck can be punched really high.
