BALL-STOPS AND THEIR USE IN VARIOUS SPORTS DISCIPLINES

Probably more than once being at a game of football, volleyball or handball you have witnessed how strongly thrown ball stops on the net for example behind the goal or along the pitch. Imagine what might have happened if the net wasn't there? A ball thrown at a momentum could damage cars, harm pedestrians or hit a building nearby. WHAT ARE THE BALL-STOPS?
High nets usually located behind goals, and often also along the length of the pitch are ball-stops. As the name suggests, they are designed to catch a ball that has been kicked too hard or thrown into the air and could cause damage to the surrounding area.

Pitches or stadiums are equipped with external ball-stop on poles and very often ball-stops are mounted along the entire sports facility.
High nets are also mounted inside sports halls, both in order to protect windows, but also to separate several playgrounds in a large facility. In addition, most often ball-stops are installed behind goals to protect spectators sitting in the grandstands.

WHAT IS THE USE OF BALL-STOPS?
Ball-stops are used to protect various sports facilities. They are perfect for e.g. football facilities, where the ball is very often kicked off the pitch with momentum. On the other hand, they are equally effective when playing volleyball or handball, after all, even there are stronger hits.
● Volleyball, handball, basketball - in these sports the most important role plays a ball of quite a large size, therefore the mesh size does not matter much - the important thing is that the mesh is not larger or equal to the size of the ball. However, we should pay attention to the thickness and strength of the mesh. Even with really hard hits, the net should remain intact and catch the ball effectively.
● Football - this is a sports discipline where there is quite a risk of the ball being kicked not only out of the goal, but also along the entire facility. Therefore, it is worth securing the sports facility with a strong, flexible and weather-resistant ball-stop.
● Tennis courts and golf courses - small sized tennis balls should be secured with a ball-stop of small sized mesh, which is definitely smaller than a tennis ball. On golf courses, on the other hand, the mesh on the ball-stops should be even smaller than on tennis courts. The appropriate mesh size is 25x25 mm.
When choosing equipment for sports facilities, such as e.g ball-stops take care that they are resistant to weather conditions. It is also important to choose the right net for a particular sports discipline. However, if the facility has several designated pitches, for example, football, volleyball, tennis court, etc., it is worth choosing a net with the smallest mesh or several different ones, placing them along a particular pitch.

Large size ball-catches installed at outdoor facilities such as stadiums, football pitches, etc., are mounted on high poles, which are placed in prepared sleeves. For this purpose, it is usually necessary to have a professional team, which will perform the installation of ball-stops at the highest level, ensuring the safety of players, fans and all people in the vicinity.
On the other hand, ball-stops inside facilities are usually mounted on sliding rails, thanks to which the net can be unfolded at any time depending on the needs.
